Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains how the developer of the App Blurify Faces (“we,” “us,” “our,” or the “Developer”) handles information in connection with the Blurify Faces mobile application, including all related features, content, and updates (collectively, the “App”). This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, into which it is incorporated by reference. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy and agree to the practices it describes. If you do not agree, do not download, install, or use the App.
In short: the App is designed to work entirely on your device. The photos you select are analyzed and blurred locally on your device. We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or other contact details in order for the App to function.
1. Our Core Principle: On-Device Processing
The App’s central purpose is to detect human faces in images you choose and to apply a blur or other obscuring effect to them. Your photos, the faces detected in them, and the blurred results are all processed locally on your device, using on-device processing and automated algorithms. This describes how the App is designed and built to work; please also read “Data Security” below.
2. Face Detection and Biometric Data
The App does not collect facial recognition templates, faceprints, or other biometric identifiers, and it does not use the faces it detects to identify any individual. Face detection is used only to locate the position of faces within an image so they can be blurred, and this occurs on your device.
3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
To provide its features, the App stores certain information locally on your device. This information is kept on your device, is not accessible to us, and can be removed by uninstalling the App. It includes, for example:
- App preferences, settings, and saved state, meaning the choices you make in the App and the information it needs to remember in order to restore your setup the next time you open it — for example, your selected language and your other editing and interface preferences; and
- Temporary cached files, including cropped or processed image data that the App writes to a temporary cache directory on your device while you are working with an image. These cached files are stored only on your device and are cleared by the App from time to time, by your operating system, or when you remove the App.
This list describes the types of information the App keeps on your device rather than an exhaustive inventory. As the App gains new features, it may store additional preferences, settings, or working data of the same kinds described above. Any such information is handled the same way: it is stored on your device and is removed when you uninstall the App.
4. Device Permissions
To function, the App may request permission to access your device ’s photo library or media (so you can select images to blur) and to save images to your photo library or gallery (so you can keep the results). These permissions are used only for these purposes and are handled by your device’s operating system. You may grant or revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings; however, revoking a permission may prevent the App or certain features from working. Granting a permission allows the App to read and save images on your device.
5. Third Parties
The App sends your information to no one. The following third parties are nonetheless involved in making the App available to you and act under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review:
- App stores. The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play, which may collect information (such as download, installation, and crash data) under their own privacy policies when you obtain or use the App.
- Your device and operating system. Apple and Google provide the operating system features the App relies on, including the photo library, sharing, and permission controls, and handle any related information under their own policies.
We may add, remove, or change service providers from time to time, and will update this Policy if doing so changes how information is handled. We are not responsible for the independent practices of these third parties, and your use of their services is governed by their own terms and policies.
6. Legal Bases for Processing
Where data protection laws such as the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation apply, we process personal data only in the limited circumstances described in this Policy. Where we do, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating, securing, maintaining, and improving the App and in responding to people who contact us, where those interests are not overridden by your rights, and, where applicable, on compliance with our legal obligations.
7. Data Retention
Information stored locally on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the App, and we have no access to it. Temporary working files the App writes while you edit an image — including the cropped faces it shows you — are cleared by the App from time to time, by your operating system, or when you remove the App. Any information we do receive, such as correspondence you send us, is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, or as required or permitted by applicable law, after which it is deleted.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information processed in connection with the App, and our design choice to process your photos on your device is itself a core protection. However, no method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, and no system can be guaranteed to be error-free or immune from unauthorized access. Statements in this Policy about local, on-device processing describe how the App is designed, built, and intended to operate; they are not a warranty that a defect, vulnerability, third-party component, or unauthorized modification of the App could never cause information to be handled differently. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we cannot and do not warrant or guarantee absolute security, and you use the App and provide any information at your own risk.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding personal data, which may include the rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Because the App is designed to minimize the personal data we hold — your photos are processed on your device, and we never ask for your name or contact details — the most direct ways to exercise your choices are to:
- manage the App’s device permissions through your device settings;
- delete all information stored locally by uninstalling the App.
To make a request regarding any personal data we may hold, you may contact us using the details in the “Contact” section below. We may need to verify your request before acting on it, and we may decline requests where permitted by law, including where we are unable to associate any data with you (for example, because the data we hold cannot reasonably be linked to your identity). We do not sell personal information and do not process it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
10. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children, and it is not intended for use by anyone under the age of digital consent in their jurisdiction (and in any event under 13, or 16 where required). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minors’ use of the App.
11. Do Not Track
The App does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals or similar mechanisms. Your controls are the device permissions and operating system settings described in this Policy.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and the updated Policy will be effective when posted or otherwise made available. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the App.
13. Contact
If you have any questions or requests regarding this Policy or your information, you can reach the Developer at blurifyfaces@outlook.com, or through the App’s listing on the Apple App Store or Google Play, or via any in-app support option provided within the App.
